Edward Segal is the chief executive officer, government affairs director and communications director of the Marin Association of REALTORS® and earned the prestigious Certified Association Executive (CAE) credential from the American Society of Association Executives. The CAE is the highest professional credential in the association industry; less than five percent of all association professionals and only five California REALTOR® association executives have earned it after passing a stringent examination on 156 competencies related to association management. Segal also earned the REALTOR® Certified Association Executive (RCE) designation from the National Association of REALTORS® and the e-PRO designation.

He is the author of two PR/marketing handbooks, including Getting Your 15 Minutes of Fame and Profit by Publicity. Segal conducts live and online workshops on variety topics for the National Association of REALTORS®, California Association of REALTORS® and local REALTOR® associations.
A Background in Politics, Journalism and Public Relations
Segal’s unique background spans politics, journalism and public relations. Prior to joining MAR in 2003, he was the marketing strategies columnist for The Wall Street Journal’s Web site for entrepreneurs. He is a former PR consultant whose clients included the Consumer Electronics Show, Marriott Corporation, Ford Motor Company and more than two dozen trade associations. Segal previously served as the press secretary and legislative assistant to members of Congress on Capitol Hill and was campaign aide for presidential and congressional campaigns across the country.
