In accordance with the Bylaws of the Marin Association of REALTORS®, members are hereby notified of an official election of officers and directors:   
 
Please note: The two methods for nominations permitted by the MAR Bylaws are as follows:   
 
1.) Nominations by Nominating Committee: The Board of Directors has approved nominations provided by the Nominating Committee listed below. Officers will serve one-year terms.  Directors will serve three-year terms unless otherwise indicated.
 
  • Nominated 2020 Officers & Directors
  • President-Elect: Cathy Youngling (will become president in 2021)
  • Treasurer: Gary Newman
  • Secretary: Laurie Schenk
  • Director (3 Year Terms): Elizabeth Kilgore, Matt MacPhee, Mike Milano  
 
  • Continuing 2020 Officers & Directors
  • 1-Year Term: President Chris Backer
  • 1-Year Term: Immediate Past President Gene Laico
  • 1-Year Terms: Barry Crotty, Carolyn Moren, Beth Sasan, *Scott Woods (Mr Woods is filling an unexpired term)
  • 2-Year Terms: Charlotte Boesel, Kathleen Clifford, Bob Donlan, Logan Link
 
 
2.) Nominations by Petition: If you were not nominated for a position by the Nominating Committee, you can seek to have your name placed on the ballot by having a petition signed by at least 5% of the REALTOR® members eligible to vote at the time petitions are circulated [1240 x 5%= 62 members]. 
 
Please mail or hand deliver your petition and contact information (including your name, company name, address, e-mail address and preferred phone number) to: Marin Association of REALTORS®, 40 Mitchell Blvd., San Rafael, CA 94903. The petition must be filed with MAR no later than 5:00 p.m., Friday, August 16, 2019. If you have any questions, please contact me by phone at 415-507-1011 or by email to romeoa@marincountyrealtors.com.  
 
Please note: In accordance with the MAR Bylaws, prerequisite for service as a director shall be two years’ membership in MAR. It is preferred that board members have served on at least one committee within the last three years. No director shall serve for more than two consecutive elected terms except that any person not having served on the Board of Directors during the previous year may seek election to the Board of Directors.  
 
Nominee must submit a letter to MAR stating they will serve in the position for which they are nominated in the event they are elected. 
 
Please plan to attend and exercise your voting privilege on September 10. Only REALTOR® members of MAR may vote. Following the short election portion of the program, we will hear a presentation called 'From the White House to the Right House' from Presidential Scholar and national security expert Sean M. Fellows. Learn how to thrive in high stakes situations with lessons on leadership, relationships and problem solving, strengthening your client and professional relationships and more.
 
The event will be held on Tuesday, September 10th from 9:00 am - 11:00 am at the Marin Country Club, 500 Country Club Drive in Novato. The cost is only $20, which includes a hot breakfast buffet. Register by clicking HERE or call MAR at 415-507-1000.
