While from the November 3rd election have been a large story on the national stage, the Marin REALTORS® has been following several local elections.

Congressman Jared Huffman and State Assembly member Marc Levine won re-election. The following Marin REALTORS endorsed candidates won their election

Kate Colin was elected Mayor of San Rafael. Barbara Coler and Bruce Ackerman were elected in the Town of Fairfax Council. Incumbent Joan Cox was elected to Sausalito City Council. Newcomer Eileen Burke and incumbent Brian Colbert were elected to San Anselmo Town Council

Newcomer Paul DeSilva joins incumbents Eva Long and Philip Kranenburg in being elected to the Marin Community College District Governing Board andMonty Schmitt was elected Marin Municipal Water District Division 2.

Marin REALTORS and the California Association of REALTORS® took a particular interest in Proposition 19, Home Protection for Seniors, Severely Disabled, Families, and Wildfire and Natural Disaster Victims act, is leading.  Proposition 21 to Expand local government authority on rent control was soundly rejected, and Proposition 15 which would have increased commercial property taxes is likely to fail.

Locally, Tam Union High School District’s Measure M passed.
